In October 2024 I traveled from Scotland to Newquay to spend 9 days shaping my new profession. I searched for training courses to become a massage therapist but didnt like the idea of evening classes over a few months. Then I found Next Wave Therapy in Cornwall who run residential training courses. It seemed like the perfect oppertunity for me to take a leap out of my comfort zone and embrass a learning, and life, experience.

I booked my space and started some online learning on anatomy and physiology, then it was time to pack my bag and head to Newquay for 9 days of immersive learning, leading to a practical assement. I had an amazing time, in fantastic accomodation, in a beautiful coastal town, with a great group of people. The days were long and full of theory and practical classes, but being a residential course, we had the advantage of spending meal times together to chat about life as well as the course work, and the luxury of chilling in the hottub to unwind before bed. I came home with a wealth of knowledge and new skills as well as new friendships.

After that came case studies and some course work to complete the course, where I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Massage! Now the really scary bit starts - going out as a qualified therapist, to peoples homes, providing relaxing treatments to help then feel better.
